"The days are long, but the years are short."
Here he was at one month... then look at the last picture... can you believe how much he has changed in just one short month?!

We are excited to introduce Jude Michael to the world! :) He was born on Friday, April 17th at 8:41am. He was a healthy 7lbs, 10oz and 20 inches long. My prayers were answered and I was able to stay awake for the c-section, so I got to hear his first adorable cry! He was then taken to the NICU b/c his respirations were 80-90 per minute, and they are supposed to be 30-60. He also had a rash on his chest and his coloring was not just perfect. It could have been something as simple as a little too much fluid on his lungs, but as bad as pneumonia...so the neonatologist was safe and sent him the the NICU for IV antibiotics and oxygen. He was put on 30% Oxygen until late that night, and remained in the NICU until Sunday at about 1:00.

Mom, why are you still here?!:
She was having a LOT of fun, and getting really good at saying "CHEESE!"
Having fun with Daddy...
For some reason, her tongue was sticking out most of the time...pretty funny!
She was so anxious to get back on!
Again, getting really good at saying "CHEESE!" :)
And here is Emmalyn with her friend, Raylen. But Ray was not really in the mood to ride any rides. This is the closest we got to getting them on a ride together...and Jess had to take Ray off before it started. She was not happy. :( I hope you have more fun the rest of the week, Ray!
More photos HERE.
Thanks, Jen, for sending me this video! :)

And here's one of Emmalyn at roughly the same gestational age...just to compare. We think they look a LOT alike! :)
I am still feeling pretty good, but tired. I just feel like I have zero energy. Very frustrating. My back is starting to hurt pretty bad, but that is to be expected. Those 2 rods and 8 screws in my lower back have a lot more strain on them these days than they did 7 months ago! It is still managed by just Tylenol and taking it easy, so I am thankful. This has been a rather quick pregnancy so far...I can't wait to meet this little guy in 47 short days! :) :) :)
I figured I was pretty much rambling and bragging about my daughter all by myself over here, but as it turns out, Jana actually reads my blog and likes it! :) She actually gave me an award! For me, can you believe it?! Thanks, Jana, I feel honored! :)Second, I give this award to Jessica. Even though I think she should update soon ;), I appreciate the purpose behind her blog. She created it to share her heart through her journey with Treyson. And has continued to share with us her heart, including stories about her 3 precious children, telling us what God is doing in her life, and involving us in Treyson's Purpose. I love you, Jess!
Thirdly, I present this award to another friend with the same name, Jessica. She is a fairly new friend, who I have honestly not gotten to connect with as much as I might like. I would like to get to know her better, and enjoy reading her blog to get a glimpse of her heart and of her family. :) I look forward to getting to know you better in person, too, Jessica! :)
So, there you have it...I do love all of my blogging friends, and would have given this to you all if allowed. :) I love that blogging allows us to get to know each other better, and gives us all an opportunity to share photos, stories, and thoughts that we probably wouldn't see otherwise. :)
Thanks again, Jana, love ya!!!
When we went to Sear's, we also took a few photos on a Valentine's background. The first photo was a surprise for Daddy, so I didn't want to share it until after he received it. :) But here are a few other photos of Emmalyn's Valentine's Day, 2009.
And one of the many tricks we tried to get Emmalyn to cooperate that day..."See! Even Tasha wants to have her picture taken!" :) :) :)
Her Valentine's was great...she received some fun candy and cards from her grandma and great grandma, and a bean bag chair to match her new room from her mommy and daddy. Mommy also bought her some things she knew she needed... pajamas and a new Backyardigans video. (I think the video was a little more for my sanity...so tired of the same one all the time! But, I am already tired of the new one, too!)
